Heavy congestion on NSE after car-carrying trailer crashes near Seremban toll plaza

PETALING JAYA: A car-carrying trailer went out of control and crashed near the Seremban Toll Plaza, causing heavy congestion on the North-South Expressway (NSE) for more than two hours on Thursday (May 4) morning.

The trailer, which was heading south, saw most of its load of six new vehicles heavily damaged as a result of the crash.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said the trailer was driven by a 49-year-old local man and that the case would be investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

If found guilty of careless or inconsiderate driving, a person can be punished with a fine between RM4,000 and RM10,000 in addition to possible imprisonment of up to a year.

A survey by Bernama also found that the traffic congestion lasted for over two hours in both directions of the highway following the accident.
